WHY IS THIS STUDY BEING DONE?
The purpose of this study is to investigate a new pain management technique in veterans who have chronic pain and are prescribed at least one opioid pain medication.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
To participate you must be:
- A Veteran of OEF / OIF / OND
- Willing and able to travel to the San Francisco VA on two separate occasions
- Willing and able to undergo mental health and cognitive testing
- Over 18 years of age

We will ask you some questions over the phone which takes about 15 minutes, and if you are a potential match for the study, we will invite you to participate in a one-hour telephone questionnaire.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THE STUDY?
This study consists of three telephone interviews, three in-person interviews at the SFVA which last approximately 30 mins-1 hours each, and three telephone check-ins; these visits will be completed over a period of five months.
WILL I BE PAID FOR MY PARTICIPATION?
If you are eligible, you will receive $100 dollars in total for your participation in this research study. You will receive $25 for two one-hour telephone assessments, and $50 for the final one-hour telephone assessment.
