Improving Access to Care for Warfighters: Virtual Worlds Technology to Enhance Primary Care Training in Post-Traumatic Stress and Motivational Interviewing (Virtual Worlds Study)This study is a four-year effectiveness-implementation Randomized Control Trial funded by US Department of Defense.
Goal: Building competency among a primary care workforce to better detect symptoms and manage post-traumatic stress symptoms and motivate treatment engagement in our warfighters. The study will improve upon existing online training by designing a virtual world platform that is fully interactive and engaging; that uses gold standard methods to evaluate provider and patient outcomes; and is developed within an implementation framework that will allow for rapid scale-up and national dissemination.
