Over 2 million Americans have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan over the past decade and increasing numbers are returning home. One of the biggest challenges Veterans face is getting the help they need during their readjustment home. The Vets Return Home Research Group, based in San Francisco, is dedicated to developing and testing new interventions to help veterans get the best care possible.
Most veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan or surrounding areas have experienced high levels of combat stress. It is common for returning veterans to experience difficulties adjusting to home, work, family and friends.
